RELSUDE Project Report: Bria

RELSUDE Project Report: Conflict Analysis in Bria

As part of the RELSUDE project, Concordis researched conflict dynamics and community perceptions in the Central African Republic. The aim of the project was to inform consortium partners and anchor them in the diverse realities of 11 targeted cities in the southeast of the country.

Despite recent efforts at peace, the consequences of conflict in the CAR still affect the town of Bria. Respondents reported tensions resulting from the presence of armed groups and a lack of inter-communal cohesion. The lack of free movement between different parts of the town continues to impede recovery, as well as a lack of educational and economic opportunity. Locals request efforts at dialogue, mediation, and conflict resolution.
