As part of the RELSUDE project, Concordis researched conflict dynamics and community perceptions in the Central African Republic. The aim of the project was to inform consortium partners and anchor them in the diverse realities of 11 targeted cities in the southeast of the country.
The town of Gambo has seen fighting between armed groups since the conflict in the CAR began. Since 2019, there has been a reduction in incidents of violence. However, locals still cite numerous issues, such as weapons remaining in circulation and incidence of crime. Furthermore, some support for the armed groups remains, leading to low inter-communal cohesion.
