Natalia Tsamalashvili

Natalia is a recent graduate from the Erasmus Joint Master in European Interdisciplinary African Studies (University of Bayreuth, Porto, Bordeaux) and holds a BA in Oriental Studies from Tbilisi State University. Her academic and professional experience spans Georgia, the MENA region, and East Africa, where she has conducted research and internships on displacement, counterterrorism, and peacebuilding. Through fieldwork in Kenya, Natalia deepened her knowledge of the Horn of Africa, especially Somalia, and explored the interplay of migration, terrorism, and regional geopolitics. She has a strong interest in Red Sea politics, foreign interference, and the intersection of peacebuilding with security governance in fragile states. Committed to amplifying the voices of conflict-affected communities, Natalia has contributed to research and advocacy initiatives focused on sustainable peace, state fragility, and evidence-based solutions to complex humanitarian and security challenges.
