Mufor Atanga
Regional Director
Mufor Atanga has an extensive background in governance and peacebuilding in Africa since the early 2000s.
His contribution to establishing the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is noteworthy. He spearheaded the operationalisation of the APRM, which remains the most ambitious governance initiative on the continent. Subsequently, he served as the Executive Secretary of the African Forum of Utility Regulators before moving into the private sector. Since 2020, he has brought his expertise in Governance, Peace and Security, and Sustainable Development to influence the strategic direction of several INGOs and African multilateral organisations intervening in these thematic areas.
Mufor has been a trailblazer since the 1990s when he joined the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Buea. He has conducted extensive research and consulted on various African development and governance issues, including geopolitics and strategy, democratic governance and human rights. H also holds degrees in political science and history from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria.
