Urgent Appeal:

Can you help fund Concordis to run three peace conferences in Abyei this December?

Save livelihoods, save harvests, save lives.

Unplanned cattle migration in Abyei is destructive and dangerous. Migration planned in Peace Conferences generates calm and benefits all sides. Can you help us support a peaceful migration season in Abyei this December?

We are seriously concerned that tensions in the region will escalate in the coming months and there will be further bloodshed without our help to bring the relevant parties together to talk. But community leaders will respond and come to the table because, after ten years of Concordis' work in Abyei, they know and trust us. Last year, amazingly and despite the ongoing war in Sudan, Concordis’ peace conferences ensured that the cattle movement season passed off without serious incident.

With your help, we can do this again and there will be good news from Abyei.

We are peacebuilders.

Concordis staff support those who live where conflict is fought and felt.

We work hand in hand with communities, helping them find workable solutions that address the root causes of conflict and contribute to lasting peace and economic development.

We are committed to finding sustainable solutions that benefit all those involved: women and youth, as well as men;  local administrative authorities, community leaders, and civil society; those who choose to take up arms and those who don't.

We engage for the long term to build trusting relationships, and leaving a legacy that enables future conflict to be managed peacefully within the community. We work to our values of humility, impartiality and inclusivity.

Where we work

For twenty years we have worked with people who live where conflict is fought and felt, helping them find workable solutions that address the root causes of conflict and contribute to lasting peace and economic development.

In this document, we outline our vision and strategy for the next five years, as we continue and develop our work in the central belt of Africa.

Food Security as a Peacebuilding Tool

In northern Central African Republic, the cassava root is more than just a crop—it's a lifeline. Farmers like Sidonie face daily challenges to protect their produce from animals and conflict. But thanks to new drying facilities being built by Concordis, communities will be able to safely process and trade cassava—tackling food insecurity, generating livelihoods and promoting peace between social groups.
