Why give to peacebuilding?

Without peace, nothing works.  

Keeping schools open, health centres functioning, food in the markets or livelihoods for families is profoundly challenging in conflict environments.  Peacebuilding recreates stability.

To live free from violence, at peace, is a fundamental human right. 

Grassroots conflicts, those between individuals and communities in remote, forgotten hinterlands, may seem insignificant. But if they are left to smoulder, they create areas of high tension and potentially flammable scenarios. In places of such vulnerability, people do not thrive. 

Peacebuilding changes lives: people are given a chance to thrive.
