As part of the RELSUDE project, Concordis researched conflict dynamics and community perceptions in the Central African Republic. The aim of the project was to inform consortium partners and anchor them in the diverse realities of 11 targeted cities in the southeast of the country.
The report focuses on Mobaye. Social cohesion has continuosly diminished since 2012. Cycles of violence have resulted in major displacements. The Séléka seized the city, leading young Christians to organize themselves into the Anti-Balaka groups. The resulting confrontations has led to an economic and social collapse. Despite recent improvements in security and social safety, mistrust between communities continues due to the ongoing presence of armed groups.
